I was in Oporto a few days ago, and noticed our friend Metallyptica's town is more beautiful than ever (no wonder she is always so proud!) Dark, misterious, magical... and always very welcoming. These pictures were taken in its old historical centre, near the Douro river, early in the morning (most of the town and the suburbs are very modern). It was a clowdy and rainy day, and also very cold. I had not seen my old Venezuelan friend Javier in quite a while, and he was passing by for short New Year hollidays, recently arrived from Madrid, where he now works. He keeps complaining about Hugo Chavez and his disastrous policies after all these years, but I managed to convice him to pose for a shot while he was moaning :)) Quite a dramatic Venezuelan "telenovela" like expression, I would say, Javi :)))

Like I've mentioned before, I love to click on your blog and see new photos, and as always these are gorgeous!! What a beautiful town!! I would love to visit there, although the language barrier would be a killer. Although, I think I know enough "bad" words in Portuguese to get me into a few fights :) LOL!!

Eheh Just come Wendi. Don't tell this to Metallyptica, but people in the North seem to be particularly at ease with those nasty words :))) Anyway, almost everybody speaks English in Europe these days, so no excuse!

Well unfortunately I still do have an excuse, well two of them LOL named Jillian & Emma!!! We are saving all our overseas travel plans until they are much older, it just isnt fun travelling with little kids!!!! Its hard to enjoy yourself unless you go to Disney or something, even then its hard!! But we do plan on going to Europe in about 10yrs LOL!!! I am sure by then EVERYONE will speak English LOL

Wow, these photos are wonderful and nuanced. I have always loved the moodiness of your black & white photos. Glad you got a chance to get away for a few days. :)

Querido Milan,

Kisses

Venezuelan sisters Mrs Fish? Fascinating? What other wonders you have to tell us? I would also love to visit one day :) By the sheer number of Venezuelan Miss Universe winners, I'm sure it has some of the most beautiful women in the world eheh.

Nice photos Milan. Yes, Porto is indeed a beautiful city. But, like Eva, I also think that Lisbon is more beautiful :)

Milan and Wendi, I am aware that we here use a lot of that nasty words that could get you (Wendi) into a fight!! LOL! But you know what?! We're kinda are proud of that! LOL I know it's weird, but somehow it is part of our soul.

Z, well... I guess Javi doesn't live here so... no matter... and besides, I guess my boyfriend wouldn't think it's that cool for me to me Javi or someother "strange" boy! LOL

Wendi, you can come here without even speaking portuguese!! While in Porto I'll be your guide! While in Lisbon I'm sure Milan will!! :)
